Does your thesis offer a fresh take on a topic related to the private equity and venture capital industry?
We are looking for the best Master’s Thesis that deals with topics related to venture capital, buyout, growth or private equity in general. Your study background doesn’t matter – whether you’re a social science, business, or perhaps law student, we want to hear your thoughts and ideas.
The winner will be chosen and awarded in November 2021. Previously, the winner has been announced at FVCA’s Pre-Christmas Seminar, where they’ve had the opportunity to share their thoughts with over a hundred decision-makers in the PE/VC industry in Finland. We aren’t organising in-person events for the time being, but the winner will be offered the chance to write a blog post about their thesis, which we will share through our communication channels. The winner will also be awarded 2 500 euros.

What topic is suitable for the competition?
The topic of the thesis can be anything, as long as it is related to the private equity/venture capital industry. Surprise us!
Who can participate in the competition?
Any student who has completed their master’s thesis and has received a grade for his or her work sometime between 15.10.2020 – 15.10.2021.
What are the judging criteria?
Topic and its impact from the private equity or venture capital industry’s point of view, innovativeness and boldness, as well as analytical and critical take on the topic.
What is the prize?
The winner will be awarded 2 500 euros and the opportunity to present their work to professionals in the PE & VC industry. Please take into account that the winner will be accountable for possible taxes.
Will you publish the grade of the thesis somewhere?
We won’t publish it anywhere, we only want to know the grade you have received for background information.

FVCA reserves the right to use the content from the winning Master’s Thesis in their communications.
