Gorilla Capital Invests in BioCell Analytica

News

Gorilla Capital Fund III has made its 49th investment in BioCell Analytica — a Swedish green technology company providing analytical services to the water sector and other actors within the environmental field.

Ensuring safe water requires more than identifying individual chemical substances. In reality, water often contains complex mixtures of contaminants whose combined effects are difficult to assess with traditional measurement methods.

BioCell Analytica applies effect-based analytical methods to evaluate how chemical mixtures impact biological systems. This approach gives drinking water treatment plants better insight into whether the water they produce is safe, and helps sewage treatment plants assess whether purification processes perform as intended.

“We are very happy to welcome Gorilla Capital as an investor in BioCell Analytica. The capital raised will help us bring the effect-based analysis to the market not only in Sweden but also the rest of the Nordics and the UK,” says Johan Lundqvist, co-founder of BioCell Analytica and Professor of Toxicology at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.

“BioCell Analytica addresses a fundamental and practical problem: understanding the real biological impact of chemical mixtures in water,” says Petter Hattenbach, Partner at Gorilla Capital.

“The team has built strong scientific credibility and practical application in Sweden. Their progress reflects careful development and clear customer need. Expansion to neighbouring markets is a natural next step built on that foundation. This is how resilient companies are built — by solving real problems step by step.”

Gorilla Capital is pleased to partner with angel investors joining this round: Almi InvestSLU HoldingThomas Lindgren, Ikigai Ventures AB, Beijerstiftelserna, Zennet Investments AB, UniFind AB, Prodesse AB and SheCap Partners AB.
