New Additions to the Team FVCA

We in the team FVCA were lucky to start the new year with three new colleagues – a warm welcome to Joonas, Topi, and Salla! “I am really excited to have the new talents in our team. We have already grown to be the biggest association in the Nordics, and our work has been recognized at the European level as well. We are looking forward to the coming year”, rejoices Pia Santavirta, the managing director of the FVCA.

Joonas Kallonen, communications intern

“Hello, I’m Joonas, a student of politics and communication at the University of Helsinki! I’ve just started as a communications intern at FVCA and I will be working with press releases, translations, and social media for the next six months. I have previously worked as a coordinator and a journalist. In my spare time, I go running, bowl, and try to see as many plays as I can.”

Topi Pöyhönen, analyst intern

“Hi! I am Topi, a second year student majoring in finance at Aalto University School of Business. I have previously worked in customer service and car retail businesses, so this is my first job related to the private equity industry. As an analyst intern, I believe that I will learn a lot of new interesting things dealing with private equity investing. In my free time, I enjoy sports, golf, and downhill skiing.”

Salla Sorsa, Event & Community Manager

“I am Salla, an executive assistant by education, nowadays a veteran with events and projects. At FVCA I am responsible for our events and community; with this role, I can combine my best personality traits with work experience from both Finland and abroad.

Studies took me to Shanghai, China, where a 5-month exchange period turned into 4 years. The city taught me a lot: the most important moments when organizing the first-ever Slush Shanghai from the beginning to the end and an internship at the Finnish Business Council Shanghai. International and multicultural work environments are still important. Before FVCA I was working at Espoo’s innovation ecosystem.

I am passionate about animal rights (vegetarian since 2009!), wine studies, learning French, boxing, and running.”
