December marks a new chapter for the Finnish Venture Capital Association’s communications as Emilia Närhi steps into the role of Head of Communications. She will be covering for the current Head of Communications, Juulia Korkiavaara, during her parental leave and will work with the association until the end of 2025. Her responsibilities include planning, executing, and managing the association’s overall communications strategy.

Emilia has a Master’s degree from the University of Vaasa, where she focused on organizational communication. Her career includes working in corporate and research communications, as well as startup environments. In previous roles, Emilia has worked on tasks such as multichannel content creation, event planning, and press releases. Most recently, she worked at the Economic Research (ETLA), where she handled various communications tasks.

“I’m very excited to work on FVCA’s communications and help make the private equity and venture capital industry better known. It’s great to join such a talented and inspiring team and support the important work being done in this field. I look forward to seeing what the year ahead brings,” says Emilia.

“Juulia has been a key part of our communications, and her work has helped us grow significantly. As she goes on parental leave, we’re happy to welcome Emilia to the team. Emilia’s positive, solution-oriented attitude has already impressed us, and her experience in organizational communications provides a strong basis for continuing our work. I’m looking forward to working with Emilia in the months ahead,” says Anne Horttanainen, CEO of the FVCA.
