As the new year begins, we are pleased to welcome our new Analyst Trainee, Otto Karttunen, to the team! Otto’s role at the association focuses on monitoring the private equity and venture capital market as well as participating in industry research and statistical work.
Otto Karttunen is a first-year student in the Master’s Programme in Finance at Aalto University School of Business. He has previously gained work experience as a project trainee at a Finnish technology company that provides water efficiency and data solutions for real estate and water utilities. In his free time, Otto can most often be found on a run with an audiobook, relaxing with a good movie, or enjoying the heat of the sauna.
“I became interested in the industry while serving on the board of the Aalto Investment Club. Private equity has significant societal impact, and Finland still has a great deal of untapped potential in this area. It’s great to join FVCA to help advance this goal, learn more about the industry, and develop my data analysis skills. My colleagues have welcomed me warmly, and I’m really looking forward to the year ahead,” Otto says.
“Private equity and active ownership are increasingly recognized as solutions to Finland’s long-standing lack of growth. As a result, the demand for information related to the private equity industry has grown, and we are receiving more and more information requests. With his expertise and energy, Otto helps us respond to this demand,” Jonne Kuittinen, Deputy Managing Director of FVCA, says.
