IXI raises EUR 33 million in Series A to develop the world’s first autofocus eyewear

News

Finnish IXI has announced a EUR 33 million funding round. The round was led by London-based Plural. Other investors included Tesi, with its first investment in the company, Heartcore, FOV Ventures, byFounders, Eurazeo, and Tiny Supercomputer among others.

IXI is developing the world’s first automatically adaptive eyeglasses, combining stylish design with cutting-edge optical technology. The company’s technological solutions can also significantly improve comfort compared to traditional eyeglasses.

Eyewear has existed for centuries, but as a consumer product, it has seen very little technological innovation. IXI has taken on this challenge, and we at Tesi are very pleased to support this world-class team in bringing eyeglasses into a new era. IXI is yet another strong example of Finnish optical technology knowhow, similarly to our portfolio companies Varjo and Dispelix,” explains Samppa Sirviö, Investment Manager at Tesi.
