Kiilto Ventures invests in a startup automating compliance reporting for contractors

News

Kiilto Ventures has invested in the Danish startup Acembee, which helps contractors meet tightening emissions reporting requirements with the help of AI and IoT technology. The company’s intelligent system reduces construction site energy consumption by up to 40% and automates compliance reporting, bringing significant cost and emissions savings to the construction industry.

Denmark, as a frontrunner, has set strict limits on emissions during the construction phase, accelerating contractors’ reporting obligations. Similar regulation is expected to tighten in other EU countries as well. Acembee’s smart IoT system reduces construction site energy use by up to 40% and automates both the data collection and reporting needed for regulatory compliance, with AI-assisted processes. The solution is designed to optimize the use of electricity, heat, water, and other resources, offering contractors substantial cost savings and more environmentally friendly ways of working.

Kiilto Ventures invested in Acembee together with Swedish node.vc, which focuses on funding early-stage innovations in traditional industries.

“We are impressed by the founding team’s capabilities in both product development and sales, and we believe in their potential to expand internationally and thereby help reduce the carbon footprint of construction. We are also excited about our first investment in Denmark—one of the leading countries in sustainable built environment—and look forward to working with the team and other investors,” says Matti Rönkkö, Managing Director of Kiilto Ventures.

“This is a huge moment for us. We’ve poured our hard work into getting here, and this investment means we can help even more construction companies unlock the benefits of AI and reduce emissions. We’re not just building a product. We are here to help the industry move forward,“ says Oline Ryberg Stærke, CEO and co-founder of Acembee

The funding will be used to scale Acembee’s solution in Denmark and abroad.
