Gorilla Capital Invests in Nano

News

Gorilla Capital Fund III has made its 40th investment in Nano — a Turku-based SaaS company using AI to help small and mid-sized consumer businesses drive growth and repeat sales.

Nano’s platform gives cafés, gyms, retailers, and service providers the same kind of data-driven growth tools that large chains use — turning everyday customer data into loyalty, engagement, and measurable revenue.

Today, most SMEs depend on large external platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Google, or Wolt to reach and retain customers. These platforms own the data — limiting SMEs’ ability to understand customer behavior, personalize offers, or build loyalty.

Nano changes that.

Its platform helps businesses build lasting, data-driven relationships — and finally compete on the same playing field as big retail. Nano brings all the essential tools together in one marketplace:

  • Profile and understand customers by collecting purchase data
  • Engage and retain them through digital loyalty programs, bonuses, and personalized offers
  • Communicate effectively with AI-assisted content creation for newsletters, SMS, and other direct channels

By connecting SMEs and consumers directly, Nano strengthens customer relationships and drives repeat business.

Nano has been fully bootstrapped until now, reaching nearly €0.5M in annual revenue with minimal external funding and strong customer validation. The company will use the new capital to accelerate growth in Finland and expand to other Nordic markets, while continuing to develop its AI-powered automation features.

“We’ve been building Nano for about four years, bootstrapping until last autumn,” says Jonas Palken, Founder and CEO of Nano.

“Now we’ve reached a point where a small investment round allows us to accelerate both sales and product development. The round came together quickly, and we’re very pleased with the investors we’ve brought on board — they strengthen our foundation and bring valuable expertise for the next step.”

“Nano is a perfect example of the kind of company we love to back,” says Kirsi Vine-Haaparinne, Partner at Gorilla Capital.

“They’re not building AI for AI’s sake — they’re building on top of it. Nano uses AI as a practical tool to help real businesses solve real problems, being very capital efficient and fully bootstrapped. Reaching nearly half a million euros in annual revenue without external funding speaks volumes about the team’s discipline, focus, and ability to build through learning — not burning. That’s the essence of the camel model.”

Gorilla Capital is pleased to partner with Peter SarlinJohan KronbergMikko PulkkilaPatrik PehrssonKaj-Mikael Björk, and Erkki Aaltonen as co-investors joining the round — a group bringing deep applied-AI expertise, further strengthening the support around Nano’s data-driven mission.
