Winner of 2024
The winner of the 2024 Building Growth competition is ICEYE!
ICEYE is an international space technology company developing microsatellites that provide near real-time radar imaging of the Earth, regardless of time of day or weather conditions.
The jury was particularly impressed by ICEYE’s story of successfully pushing a university’s research project to strong international growth. The importance of working with a private equity and venture capital investor also came through clearly in ICEYE’s growth story – the company’s growth has been supported by Finnish Lifeline Ventures since its early days.
This year’s finalists were four fantastic and completely different companies – Gigglebug Entertainment, ICEYE, Roima Intelligence and Suomen Avustajapalvelut.

Building Growth competition
The Building Growth competition is the association’s annual competition to find the most interesting growth story of the year. The competition looks for the most interesting and inspiring story of the year from over 600 Finnish portfolio companies of private equity and venture capital investors, highlighting how to build growth together with an investor. PwC has been a partner in the competition for more than a decade, and its experts are also involved in identifying potential companies.
Final and winners
The final of the competition, for the most interesting growth story of the year, is held at the Finnish PE-VC Summit, the main event of the year for private equity and venture capital investors. The winner will be selected by a three-person jury of investment and business professionals from different perspectives. Previous winners include Virta, Bolt.Works, Swappie, Smartly.io, Unisport, Kamux, and Musti ja Mirri. This year’s winner was space technology company ICEYE.
