Greencode Ventures leads seed round in Lumoview, a company revolutionizing how Europe’s buildings are digitized for energy efficiency

Greencode Ventures is excited to announce their investment in Lumoview, a German company revolutionizing how Europe’s buildings are digitized for energy efficiency. Lumoview’s unique combination of proprietary scanning hardware, AI-powered software, and cloud-based automation delivers high-quality building data quickly and affordably—unlocking a new level of efficiency for energy consultancy, renovation planning, and digital facility management.

”Greencode Ventures is thrilled to lead Lumoview’s seed round with IBB Ventures and WakeUP Capital alongside, backing a transformative blend of hardware and software that addresses the urgent need for decarbonization and digitalization in the building sector. Lumoview’s founding team brings an exceptional combination of deep technical expertise and profound sector insight, which uniquely positions them to reshape the industry.” – Ines Bergmann-Nolting, Managing Partner, Greencode Ventures.

Spun out of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Lumoview is located in Berlin and Cologne and led by Dr. Silvan Siegrist, Dr. Arne Tiddens, and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernhard Hoffschmidt. The company’s flagship product, the LumoScanner, captures complete 3D spatial and thermal data of indoor environments in seconds. Unlike traditional LiDAR systems, Lumoview’s solution is portable, affordable, and easy to operate—enabling professionals and non-experts alike to scan buildings at scale.

Their proprietary software platform automatically processes this data in the cloud, delivering outputs like 3D CAD models, thermal maps, floor plans and more—all integrated into industry-standard platforms. This automation reduces cost and turnaround time for building assessments, a critical bottleneck in large-scale renovation and energy transition efforts.

There are over 220 million buildings in Europe, and 85% were built before 2001—making them largely energy-inefficient. Yet, only 1% are renovated each year. In response, the EU is investing heavily in regulatory frameworks like the Renovation Wave and the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), aiming to double renovation rates by 2030 and reduce building emissions, which currently account for 36% of EU-wide CO2 output.

To meet these targets, the market needs rapid, scalable solutions that can generate reliable building data for energy consultants and renovators—exactly where Lumoview delivers but with the potential to go beyond. Lumoview’s end-to-end digitization technology positions it to become vital infrastructure for Europe’s building transformation, spanning renovation, facility management, and smart building operations.

Lumoview’s founders combine exceptional academic and technical depth with compelling commercial vision. The founding team brings deep expertise from energy research and building physics, with multiple patents filed. Their combined background in mechanical engineering, physics, and solar energy research uniquely positions them to tackle this complex technical challenge. Greencode Ventures likes to invest in teams with deep domain knowledge and strong execution drive.

Greencode Ventures is equally impressed by their broader team of 30+ people. Together, they are poised to transition from R&D-led innovation to go-to-market scaling.

Greencode Ventures believes Lumoview enables one of the least tackled decarbonization challenges: making Europe’s buildings energy-efficient. By reducing the friction and cost of digital assessments, Lumoview accelerates renovation timelines, improves building intelligence, and unlocks scalable decarbonization.

With a strong sales pipeline and exceptional customer satisfaction, Lumoview is now ready to scale. This funding round will be used to strengthen the commercial team, expand sales and accelerate platform development.
