Gorilla Capital Fund III has made its 63rd investment: Apukuski, a platform standardizing second-hand logistics for big and bulky goods.
Items in the ”big and bulky” category — think furniture, appliances, or other large goods — fall into an awkward gap: too large for standard parcel couriers, yet too complex for traditional freight companies. Coordinating pricing, scheduling, and delivery for these items has typically meant manual back-and-forth between customers, sellers, and transport providers.
Apukuski addresses this with a single platform that gives instant, fixed pricing and minute-accurate scheduling for big and bulky deliveries. Its own prediction engine estimates job duration with over 95% accuracy, which lets that pricing and scheduling plug directly into e-commerce checkouts and marketplace listings for second-hand and circular trade. Apukuski itself owns no vehicles and employs no drivers — it coordinates a vetted network of professional transport partners, acting purely as the technology layer that ties the process together.
The platform already has real usage behind it: over 2,000 customer reviews averaging 4.9 out of 5 stars, a Net Promoter Score (a common measure of how likely customers are to recommend a service to others) of 92, and active integrations with major marketplaces and retail chains across Europe.
”We didn’t build our platform in a vacuum. We spent three years running our own moving company, developing and testing our technology directly in the field. We know the operational pain points of heavy logistics because we lived them every day while building the solution. We didn’t build Apukuski on startup hype, but on real execution, data, and hard-earned domain expertise. Gorilla Capital’s pragmatic, grounded mindset matches our philosophy perfectly as we scale our asset-light solution and connect directly with major European marketplaces,” says Arttu Hilli, Founder and CEO, Apukuski.
”What stood out with Apukuski is that Arttu and his team spent three years running their own moving company before building the platform — testing pricing, scheduling, and partner coordination directly in the field. That kind of step-by-step building, grounded in real customer trust, reflects the discipline that creates resilient companies. At Gorilla, we look for teams that combine deep domain understanding with the ability to learn directly from their customers and turn that into execution,” says Risto Rautakorpi, Partner at Gorilla Capital.
Gorilla Capital is pleased to partner with Sofokus Ventures, as well as angel investors including Tero Lehtonen and Laura Vatanen, among others.
